Delivered under the SPARROW Project framework, an innovative and immersive workshop on flood preparedness and response brought together 50 students from across Cyprusโdemonstrating how cutting-edge research can translate into real-world resilience capabilities.
Through #SupportCY and the Bank of Cyprus initiative, participants engaged in a high-pressure simulation of extreme weather events, applying SPARROW-driven approaches to crisis management in a structured, decision-centric environment.

Delivered in collaboration with the KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence, the Ministry of Education Sport and Youth of Cyprus, the Cyprus Fire Service, and the Cyprus Ambulance Service, the initiative created a multi-stakeholder environment aligned with SPARROWโs core philosophy: bridging research, operations, and society.
Students worked in teams to develop prevention strategies, response actions, and innovative solutionsโdemonstrating strong analytical thinking and adaptability in complex, evolving scenarios.
The presence of leadership from the Ministry of Interior Cyprus reinforced the importance of embedding resilience capabilities earlyโthrough education, awareness, and practical engagement.
