Under the SPARROW Project framework, a high-intensity Tabletop Exercise was delivered in Cyprus, simulating cascading, multi-hazard disruptions impacting the Vasilikos Energy Centre, one of the country’s most critical infrastructure assets.
The exercise brought together senior representatives from national authorities, critical infrastructure operators, and industry stakeholders, reinforcing a whole-of-system approach to crisis and disaster management.
With the participation of leadership from the Ministry of Energy and the Cyprus Employers and Industrialists Federation, the exercise underscored a critical reality: large-scale crises cannot be managed in silos. They require coordinated, cross-sector decision-making under pressure.
As the scenario escalated, participants navigated cascading impacts across energy, communications, and emergency response systems. Within this dynamic environment, SPARROW tools were deployed in real time, enabling interaction with end-users and capturing actionable insights from frontline professionals.
