Another high-impact activity delivered under the SPARROW Project, this time at the American University in Bulgaria, following the invitation of our partners at the Law and Internet Foundation.
The Tabletop Exercise (TTX) brought together university staff, students, and local emergency services in a collaborative, high-engagement environment—bridging academia, operational responders, and future decision-makers.
Set in Blagoevgrad, the scenario simulated disruptions across critical infrastructure systems, including power, communications, and essential services. As the exercise evolved, participants were challenged to manage cascading impacts affecting urban functionality, public safety, and institutional continuity.
Operating in a dynamic, time-pressured environment, participants engaged in:
SPARROW tools and technologies were integrated into the exercise flow, enabling interactive engagement with end-users and capturing structured feedback to support continuous system refinement and user-driven innovation.
Beyond the simulation itself, the exercise reinforced a critical capability: the ability to make timely, informed decisions under pressure in complex, interdependent environments.
