CYBERSECURITY WORKSHOP | Building the Next Generation of Resilience

A unique and highly engaging experience was delivered to 50 high school students in Limassol, through an immersive educational workshop focused on the prevention, response, and recovery of cyberattacks affecting critical infrastructure.

Titled “Youth Ask and Provide Solutions for Resilience”, the workshop was organized by Bank of Cyprus in collaboration with TechIsland, the Ministry of Education Sport and Youth of Cyprus, and the KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence.

Participants were introduced to advanced tools and technologies developed under the SPARROW Project, gaining hands-on exposure to solutions supporting crisis management and operational resilience in complex and disruptive environments.

The programme featured five distinct cyberattack and blackout scenarios, where students were challenged to:

  • Assess evolving cyber and operational risks
  • Make decisions under pressure and uncertainty
  • Develop coordinated response strategies
  • Understand cascading impacts across interconnected systems

Through this approach, participants experienced a realistic simulation of crisis conditions—bridging theory with practice and translating complex resilience concepts into actionable thinking.
